General Information

Secret Santa is a group activity, in which members of a group are randomly assigned other members to whom they anonymously give a gift. At the end there is a big reveal where everyone finds out who got them gifts. This Secret Santa relies solely on digital gifts, which means no money needed! Just internet access and your graphics program to make the gifts. What kind of gifts? Fanlisting codes, wallpapers, layouts, anything!
There have been 6 regular editions of the TFL Message Board Secret Santa, and one June/July edition. I previously organised the Secret Santa of December 2008, as well as June/July 2009. Anna did a wonderful job with it before me (2005, 2006 and 2007) and I'm happy to be continuing this great tradition!

This year we're setting the required amount of gifts a little lower, to enable more people to participate. With the requirement down to only one gift per week, and because of the complaints last year about Santas giving barely anything, I have decided to add a guideline on the gifts. The gifts are to be fairly sized, such as: These are guidelines, there's no need to fret over the exact size of your gifts as long as they're not ridiculously small each time (ie. giving just 10 codes per week or something like that). You are free to break these up into several smaller gifts, just give one larger gift or however fits your schedule best. You are always free to give more than required if you feel like it. ;)

Rules

  1. Please give me a valid e-mail address that you want to receive all information concerning Secret Santa at. This will also be the e-mail address that your Secret Santa will get to send you gifts. There will be an e-mail address available for all participants to send gifts from (to stay anonymous).
  2. If you are going to be in this just to get gifts, do not even bother! The holiday season is about giving and receiving! If you don't give, you won't get. If you're not sending gifts, your Secret Santa will be informed, and you won't be getting anymore gifts from them.
  3. Don't tell anyone's secret! That's half the fun!
  4. I understand not everyone at TFL gets along. You can give the names of some people you'd love to be Santa-ing for, as well as names of people you'd rather not be Santa-ing for. While I will try to keep in mind the names you give as much as possible, it is possible I assign you someone you know for sure won't work out, and if that happens, please let me know! I want you to have fun making all your presents, and if you can't stand your person, it won't be any fun.
  5. The first gift must be sent off no later than a week after the Secret Santa assignments are sent out. You will receive one warning e-mail and then you will be dropped after 48 hours. Your gift giver will receive someone new, and your receiver will be given to someone else. From then, until 25 December, you must send one gift per week. (of course you're free to give more!)
