The Site

What is this site about?
Silent Storms is a per­sonal blog and graph­ics site. I use it to keep track of the things I learn about arts & design1, teach oth­ers when I feel com­fort­able enough about my own knowl­edge on cer­tain top­ics, to share my own graph­ics and scripts and to share links to inter­est­ing web­sites.2

While I’m very pas­sion­ate about arts and design, and have actu­ally very seri­ously thought about mak­ing a career out of it, I have found I’m not too fond of design­ing for oth­ers on a reg­u­lar basis. I have no degree in any form of design (or arts), but love mak­ing graph­ics and other arts-and-design-y stuff in my spare time. It’s purely a hobby, and Silent Storms is the place I show­case my works and keep track of the things I learn. When­ever I blog or write arti­cles about some­thing arts and design related, it’s geared towards fel­low hob­by­ists. I’m not a pro­fes­sional, nor will I ever imply that I am. The blog posts and arti­cles will be writ­ten to the best of my abil­i­ties and knowl­edge, but please do feel free to cor­rect me when­ever you feel I’ve made a mistake.

The Girl

My name is Anouska. I’m a 24 year old girl, born on the 19th of Feb­ru­ary 1987 in The Nether­lands. I’m 176 cen­time­ters tall3, cau­casian and have brown hair and brown eyes. I have a bachelor’s degree in Law and am cur­rently study­ing towards my Master’s at the Uni­ver­sity of Ams­ter­dam. I plan on becom­ing a civil law notary.

As a stu­dent in the Nether­lands we don’t have dorms and it’s not unusual to keep liv­ing with your par­ents, which I still do. I am sav­ing money to go live on my own, and plan on doing so by the time I grad­u­ate from university.

I love work­ing on my web­sites, SilentStorms.net and So-Obsessive.org. I’m also a staffer at The Fan­list­ings Net­work.
Other hob­bies of mine include draw­ing, read­ing, yoga, aikido and play­ing games. I love chick lit books, as well as his­toric ones. I mostly play games on my PC or on my Wii. I love Gui­tar Hero, Band Hero, Wii Sports and Wii Fit/Wii Fit Plus, and The Sims 3 on my PC.
